Important Update From Today’s Court Hearing
We had a major development in court today regarding the A Street project. The judge repeatedly pressed the City and the developer on a key question: Developer claims financial burden by having the building injunction and wants relief, then what relief will the people of Greater Golden Hill have if the promised 2035 transit never arrives? At least three times the judge asked that question to the defense team, and the best the argument the defense could muster was that we can vote.
If the transit doesn’t materialize — yet the City grants massive building bonuses under Complete Communities — the result would violate the Climate Action Plan and leave thousands of residents with increased density but no transit access. The judge made clear that this concern goes to the heart of our case.
This is a big moment for our community, and we will continue to keep you updated as the case proceeds. Thank you to everyone who has shown up, written letters, donated, or spread the word. Your support is driving this forward, especially by your donations to the legal fund, and by showing up to the events and court hearings.
