Neighborhood Fire Safety Liaisons

Train to do defensible space and home hardening assessments!

The Greater Golden Hill Fire Safe Council is becoming a “qualified entity” for bringing skilled persons to support our neighborhoods fire resiliency. Cal Fire and San Diego County provide 2 days of training to individuals who are part of a local Fire Council to learn:

  • Defensible Space requirements and best practices

  • Home Hardening and retrofitting

  • Wildfire history, laws, research, and assessments

  • Document assessments using CAL FIRE’s electronic data collection application

  • Consistent training and coordinated messages throughout the state

You will recieve a “certificate of completion” which will help you support our community’s fire resilitence. You will be part of the Greater Golden Hill Fire Safe Council’s efforts to:

  • Increase public education and awareness

  • Provide nonregulatory assistance ce to reduce wildfire risk

  • Create more wildfire - resistant communities

  • Network with other local agencies/organizations and CAL FIRE

  • Allow fire agencies to focus their inspection, enforcement, and educational resources

  • Assist in estimating defensible space compliance
