Subject: Councilmember Whitburn—Please Represent Us in A Street Project Talks
Dear Councilmember Whitburn and Ms. Gaffney,
We understand you will soon be meeting with the developer of the proposed 8-story, 180-unit apartment building on A Street, directly across from Albert Einstein Academies.
We’re asking—respectfully but urgently—that you carry the voice of our neighborhood into that room. Our community has spoken loud and clear: this project is out of scale, out of character, and completely at odds with the Greater Golden Hill Community Plan. In an effort and show of community support, would you please consider having a available member of the city planning department, and/or CPC, and or someone from the Greater Golden Hill Planning Committee present at the meeting?
This project does not serve families. It does not serve schoolchildren. It does not bring services. It adds traffic, pollution, blocked sunlight, infrastructure stress, and school safety concerns.
We want you to fight for us—your constituents—and push to bring this project back to a size and scope that reflects what our neighborhood planned for and deserves.
Please stand with us now, not with developers who disregard community-driven guidelines.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[Your Street or Zip Code]
